DIY Artichoke Lemon Wreath
Warmer temps means it’s time to add some pretty summer decor to the front door! My yard is in full bloom right now with roses, hydrangeas and sunny lilies. So I thought I’d add a bit more of cheerful yellow with an Artichoke Lemon Wreath! Grilled artichokes with lemon are one my family’s favorite summer recipes. And because they are the perfect food pairing, they were the inspiration for this wreath which is part of the Seasonal Simplicity Summer Series hosted by Krista from The Happy Housie. I’ve joined 24 of my friends for a DIY summer wreath tour and their gorgeous wreaths are showcased below.
Anything and everything LEMON is HOT-HOT-HOT in home decor and fashion this year! You will be on trend with this wreath and it is simple to make with only a few items.
To make this Artichoke Lemon Wreath you will need the following:
I bought most of my items from Michaels.
- 1 grapevine wreath
- 1 faux asparagus fern bunch
- 2 lemon and floral garlands (5 ft. long each)
- artichoke vase filler (I bought mine at Target). TIP- Faux succulents would be a beautiful substitute.
- floral wire
- ribbon
- faux fiddle leaf fig bunch (optional)
- wire cutters
- scissors
How to make an Artichoke Lemon Wreath
Step 1: Gather all your supplies. Cut apart the individual stems/branches from the greenery bunches using wire cutters.
Step 2: Insert the base of the clipped asparagus stems into the grapevine wreath. I allowed a few of the stems to cascade downward, draping along the bottom of the wreath. (The asparagus stems remind me of rosemary actually and rosemary is delicious with grilled artichokes too!)
Step 3: Unwind the lemon/floral vines garlands and swirl the garlands over the top of the asparagus vines. Secure the garlands to the wreath with floral wire.
Step 4: Make a bow with the ribbon and fasten it to wreath with floral wire. Thread floral wire through the bottom of the faux artichokes and secure to the wreath where desired.
That’s all there is to it! So easy and sweet! Or should I say tart? Here’s a little shot of how it looks on our front door! I hope you like it too!

Love the pop of color on your wreath! Yellow is the number 1 summer color and lemon yellow is by far my favorite, so I like seeing it as a part of home decor.
