Merry Christmas friends! I hope your December is going well and you are able to pause amidst all the holiday hustle and bustle and enjoy this amazing season. I wanted to stop in and share our Coastal White Christmas Family Room with you today. The family room is all decked out in icy, snow inspired decor with a coastal, seaside flair.
While half the country received a beautiful blanketing of snow last week, we received several inches of cold rain instead. Bah-humbug! At least the family room gave us a taste of a winter wonderland! I kept the color palette simple with crisp white, shades of sea glass blues, and rustic, warm wood tones.
My favorite white reindeer, which I found at Target several years ago, are nestled in a bed of natural wood beads and are flanked by two seagrass candle hurricanes filled with sand and seaglass. Those were a great find from Kirklands.
I kept our DIY Wood Beam Mantel simple with fresh juniper branches cut from my mom’s yard, white ceramic houses and trees from the Target Dollar bins, birch bark cones from AtHome, and cute noel stocking holders and furry stockings from HomeGoods.
I used white berry floral picks to create a little forest of trees. Don’t you just love floral picks? They are in the Christmas tree too!
The newest addition to the Christmas decor was this amazing flocked Christmas tree from Lowes. It was such a bargain and has 12 different light settings (white and colored). My kids love it! Because I have to have a coastal Christmas tree each year, I pulled out all my seaglass and glass float ornament collectionI strung real sand dollars with silver ribbon and hung them on the tree along with DIY capiz shell ornaments, and pencil finger starfish.
White fur was a must for a white Christmas! Soft and fuzzy table runners, pillows and throws create of cozy and warm feeling in the room.
A new JOY sand dollar velvet and sequin pillow was the perfect coastal Christmas addition to the sectional.
The family room and kitchen are on the northern side of our home and these rooms are so very hard to photograph well because they are so dark this time of year, even with a wall of windows! I tried my best this week to get a good photo of the whole room but the light was not cooperating as well as I’d like. But here’s a whole room glance of our Coastal White Christmas Family Room!
I’m working on getting the kitchen all Christmas ready and I’ll share more of the kitchen later this week. And I know everyone is going to ask, because they are always my top questions… the family room wall color is Sea Salt by Sherwin Williams and the tile is Agate Lucca Pearl by Lunada Bay Tile.
I hope you enjoyed a little tour of our Coastal White Christmas Family Room! Have a great week friends!
KIM

Hi there, lovely home, and blog.
Just wondering where I could purchase bar stools like yours?
Thanks, carol
Kim @ Sand & Sisal says
Hi Carol! Thank you so much! I bought the stools at Overstock.com years ago. They orignally were cherry stained and I spray painted them white last year. Wayfair has several bar height stools in white. They do carry the counter height (shorter) version of my white stools. Hope that helps! Have a lovely week! ~KIM

Your Christmas home is so lovely! I am so ready to ditch the red and green Christmas decor I have had for many, many, many(!) years. I live on the Florida coast and I get so stressed putting up red/green Christmas decorations as it feels cluttered with my turquoise/white/lime green normal decor. I am going to definitely change it up next year.
Kim @ Sand & Sisal says
Thank you Janet! I did an aqua blue and red theme last year but this year it’s all a winter white or neutral color palette which was really easy to transition into without much effort. A flocked tree with turquoise and lime ornaments and ribbon would be beautiful. I decorated a bit for Christmas with turquoise and lime a few years back. Your home is so peaceful and beautiful, you are so talented. Can imagine how good would be to live in your lovely home. Gives me a notion to redo our home, don’t think it’s very peaceful, too much “stuff”.
Have wonderful peaceful rest of week

Thank you Jane Ellen! I figure if I make it look peaceful then it will calm any anxiety I might have! Ha! Not sure it’s working entirely but we are enjoying the house all decked out for Christmas. Have a lovely week! ~ KIM

Kim,
No one does coastal better than you. I love the colors you used and the way you styled your home. Everything is so light and airy it makes me want to forget about all this horrible weather we are getting and take a nice beach vacay. Merry Christmas to you and your family.

I love your coastal style! You inspire me. Where is your sectional from? I love the color of it!
Kim @ Sand & Sisal says
Thank you Selina! The sectional is from the Pearce collection at Pottery Barn and is in their Everyday Performance Suede- color “Oat”. We’ve had it for at least a decade (they still carry it) and it is so well made and the fabric cleans up beautifully. I highly recommend it!
