We are going to have a very blue, blue Christmas, but it will be a very merry blue Christmas! Go ahead you can keep on singing the melody. I have embraced the bold and beautiful navy color palette that I delivered for fall and now melding into Christmas. I’m so excited to share A Very Merry Blue Christmas Tour with you today as part of the Seasonal Simplicity Christmas Series featuring over 45 top decor bloggers and hosted by my friend Krista from The Happy Housie. If you are hopping over from Jenna Kate at Home then let me give you a very special welcome!
A Very Merry Blue Christmas Tour
It’s a very merry blue Christmas over here at the Wilson household. This is the first time I’ve decorated with navy and white for the holidays ever. I seriously loved how much the living room looked during the fall and decided to slightly transition the navy blue and white theme into Christmas decor! It was easy and fun!
I clipped holly sprigs from the front yard to adorn the mantel. The mantel theme was snowy white Christmas villages, trees, and reindeer. Those cute village houses were from the Target Dollar Spot Bins! I bought them last year but was happy to see them again on the shelves this year. I hoped to grab up a few more, but waited to long.
The inspiration for this years blue and white Christmas tree were these beautiful DIY gold leaf ornaments. Please click on that link to see how easy they are to make for yourself. They added such a glamorous touch to our tree!
The coffee table centerpiece came straight from the yard. Don’t you just love free flowers? I do! My camellias bloom during November and December each year. They are a gift to the garden when everything else dies and withers at first frost. Camellias are quite tricky to work with though. I love floating their blooms in water but understand that one clipping of these gorgeous blooms will only last 24-48 hours tops.
Camellias though are my most favorite evergreen bush to plant in the yard. Check out my favorite Fall Camellia Recommendations HERE.
So we’ve got greenery and flowers and now we need soft and cushy pillows! I’ve gathered so many pillows that my husband is wondering if I have a pillow addiction. This fall I decided to pare down on my pillow compulsion and only buy pillow covers. Feel free to check out my favorite 15 Blue and White Christmas Pillow Covers, several which you see below!
Here is a little view across the room.
And because I get questioned all the time about “where is your TV?”. Well, I don’t show this angle ever because it still isn’t what I want it to be. We are using an old desk as a TV stand. I haven’t found a stand that I like (and can afford) yet. …….. Oh yes, as I write this, I am watching President Bush 41’s funeral, and that is what you see on my TV. What a beautiful and moving tribute that ceremony was.
Once my gorgeous camellia blooms faded away, I replaced them with fresh evergreens to make a longer lasting Christmas Centerpiece for the coffee table. Not to mention that the fresh greens smell amazing!
I hope you enjoyed my very merry blue Christmas tour! Next up on the tour is my friend Norma from Paint Me Pink!

Simply adore your blue and white Christmas decor! I would never have thought of using blue as the focal point for Christmas – albeit I do have many blue accessories! That’s why you’re a pro and I’m not! Love that checked ribbon running across the decorations on your mantel, and the pillows are to die for. Love it!
Kim @ Sand & Sisal says
Thank you Barbara! This is a first for me too decorating with Navy blue for Christmas but it’s a fun change for the season. Merry Christmas! ~KIM

I will also echo the above comments. All the blue and white reminds me of a sunny winter scene with sparkling snow and blue shadows. Inspiring as always Kim :).

You are so sweet Nancy! I love that description! Thank you! Merry Christmas! ~ KIM

It’s nice to see some color in your Christmas decorations. I’ve noticed such a neutral trend this year on so many bloggers’ posts. While they are always beautiful with their gold, silver, gray or burlap, I always feel they are kind of blah. I don’t necessarily need to see red and green but some hits of color would do wonders. IMHO.

So beautiful, Kim! I love your DIY ornaments! I totally feel ya on the TV situation. It took me years to find something suitable! President Bush’s tribute was really moving. xoxo
Kim @ Sand & Sisal says
Thanks so much Jessica! I’m hoping to find something suitable for the tv sometime soon! Merry Christmas!

Your use of blue & white & gold as Christmas decor is stunning. I usually highlight blue & white décor with silver, but the gold brings in a warm ambiance. I noticed that that your beautiful Christmas tree seems to glow golden on one side…is there a purpose for this or is it a strange look off the angle or photography? I cannot hardly wait to read what you share next! As always, thanks for sharing and inspiring!
Kim @ Sand & Sisal says
Thank you Juanita! The golden glow is just the way it appears on camera. The windows brighten the left side of the tree and the right side is in a shadow so it appears as glowing. Have a lovely weekend!

You truly know how to make a blue Christmas look so beautiful! Everything you do is perfection, love it all! xoxo -Norma
