Christmas Village Table Setting and Holiday Entertaining Ideas
I love my little Christmas Village. These cute little homes were less than $2 a piece from Walmart. I loved their details and shapes but wasn’t a fan of the colors so last year I spray painted each one white. Instantly they were transformed into something chic, modern, and stylish. They were the perfect foundation for this year’s Christmas Village Table Setting and Holiday Entertaining Ideas blog tour hosted by Lori of Designthusiasm. She has gathered 20 gorgeous entertaining ideas for this Styled & Set Tour and all are listed at the bottom of this post. If you are arriving here from the ever talented Kristin of Ella Claire and her gorgeous home tour then let me extend an extra special welcome!
Each place setting received a cute little white ceramic Christmas village house, flanked by votive candles. Festive plaid napkins, gilded holiday plates, and earthy cedar branch placemats set the rustic and cozy Christmas mood.
The bar cart was adored with a few simple Alpine trees and sweet Cardinals, which happen to be our Virginia state bird. I have several cardinal families that live in our yard and I have the joy of watching them outside my window as I write this blog post to you!
If you have followed me for any time then you might notice that I moved the buffet table across the room. It used to be an entertainment center but I repurposed it and painted it to accommodate our needs. Below is a pic of it in our Rustic Glam Dining Room theme last year. The new location is a bit more convenient for serving purposes from the kitchen.
My passion is coastal blues but for the family I will always give them the classic green and red at least in one room!

Love reading the posts Kim. My favourite is the rustic although very pretty this year’s decoration seems very cool. In the snowy cold north last year’s was a great tradition builder. Merry Christmas!

Thank you Nancy! You are always so positive and an encouragement to me. Please know how much you are appreciated! I’ll probably return to the rustic next year but try to mix it up a bit. Got to keep it interesting for you all! Have a lovely week ~ KIM

I received your post this morning, loved the dining chairs! Went to 2 HomeGoods stores this morning and could not find the chairs. Am so disappointed as I wanted 8 chairs to complete this look. Perhaps you should post when the merchandise when it is available.
Kim @ Sand & Sisal says
Hi Michele! Thanks so much! I bought those chairs over a year ago, which are featured in last year’s Christmas dining post. Though I have seen them a few times since at HG and Marshalls but they were in cream instead of gray. Everything at HG goes so quickly. I was lucky to grab up 6 chairs. They had just put them on the floor 20 minutes earlier. Sorry they weren’t available currently. Have a lovely week! ~KIM

I loved the repurposing of the little village for your Christmas season dining! Very classy! The red & green holiday accents dress up your lovely coastal décor for the season without taking away any of the beauty of it! I loved seeing the other Christmas table ideas shared in the tour photos as well! Thanks so much for sharing and inspiring!
