Hi friends! I have been having fun this week coming up with some new ways to decorate with napkins! If you haven’t noticed already, I really enjoy creating fun and festive tablescapes. Using cloth napkins in new and inventive ways can stretch your decorating dollars. Easter is such a meaningful and joyous time for my family and my faith and I’m happy to share this adorable Easter Bunny Napkin Fold and Table Setting Idea!
All this week a bunch of my amazing bloggy girlfriends and I are inviting you into our homes to share decorating and entertaining tips and ideas for this Easter season. The fun home tour is hosted by Lori from Designthusiasm. If you are coming over from Lauren’s gorgeous blog Bless’er House then allow me to extend an extra special welcome to you!
Isn’t this Easter bunny napkin fold just the most precious thing ever? If you have followed me for any time then you know I like napkin folding. Feel free to check out my standing Christmas Tree Napkin Fold and Valentine Envelope Napkin Fold. For this Easter table setting I wanted to use napkins in several different ways and try to reinvent and use what I already had on hand.
I gathered 3 coordinating cloth napkin sets from my napkin collection. Two were bought years ago from Target (the green graphic print and the floral pattern) and the chambray blue napkins were bought last year from HomeGoods. In lieu of a table cloth, two of the napkin styles served as placemats set in a diamond formation. I alternated the patterns and allowed the lower halves to drape over the table edge. It was super easy and fast! Ironing a few napkins seemed easier than a big ol’ tablecloth.
I need to confess that this is my first time ever decorating with bunnies. My daughter has recently adopted a bunny called “Mr. Bun Bun” and I think our new found love for him has softened my heart on my personal “no-bunny-decor” rule. So I broke my defenses down and bought a white ceramic bunny and salt & pepper shakers (both from HomeGoods).
I mean, can you blame me? Just look at him! He’s such a sweet, snuggy little bunny, though he’s not too keen on being my bunny model.
The centerpiece is a very versatile DIY Wood Trough Centerpiece. Click that link for the tutorial on how to build your own. I filled it 4 blue mason jars, tulips, green spanish moss, and the big ceramic bunny.
The Easter Bunny Napkin Fold is so crazy easy to make. The fun thing about them is that you can display the bunny napkins either laying down or standing.
Easter Bunny Napkin Fold
(Pinnable Graphic at Bottom of Post)
Step 1: Iron a square cotton napkin.
Step 2: Fold the napkin in half to create a triangle.
Step 3: Fold the napkin in half again to create a smaller triangle.
Step 4: Start folding the long, open side of the triange upward in about 1.5 inch folds.
Step 5: When nearing the top, fold the point inward (tucking in) and continue folding upward until napkin is in a long flat roll.
Step 6: Wrap napkin around an Easter egg and secure with a ribbon tied in a bow right above the top of the egg.
TIP: The reason why I fold vs. roll the napkin is because a flat fold allows for the bunny to stand upright if you desire. The stiffer the napkin, the more likely it is to stand. I use 100% cotton napkins.
Are they not just the cutest napkins ever? A fun idea is to personalize each egg with your guest’s or family’s names written on the eggs. Feel free to use real, faux, or even plastic eggs filled with candy! Pull out your napkins this spring to create a beautiful and whimsical Easter tablescape!

Gorgeous tablescape! How do you keep you tulips fresh in the wood box? 🙂 Robin
Kim @ Sand & Sisal says
Hi Robin! HA… they are actually faux tulips (shhhhhh). I wanted real ones but my grocery stores were completely sold out. I probably should have done a close-up pic but I put 4 large aqua mason jars in the box and then the tulips are in the jars. Then I surrounded the jars with plastic grocery bags to fill the space and topped it off with the green moss. Easy peasy and no worries about dying flowers. Thanks so much! ~ KIM

Hi Carrie! Thanks so much! The woven seagrass placemats are from World Market. I ordered them online. They seem to consistenly have the best price for those.
