It’s exciting to see your friends create amazing DIY projects, but it’s icing on the cake to see their dreams come true and get published! I’m happy to introduce you all to DIY Rustic Modern Metal Crafts by my friend Laura Putnam, who is the editor of the DIY/home blog Finding Home Farms. This book provides 35 creative upcycling ideas for galvanized metal and today I’m giving away a copy to one lucky reader!
Laura provides step by step tutorials with photos for all the projects. These are projects that anyone can do. You do not need a ton of tools or skills to create beautiful galvanized items for your home. The DIY and crafty chapters include multiple crafts for each chapter.
The array of chapters include:
- Materials Needed
- Rustic Metal Wall Art
- Rustic Metal Lighting
- Rustic Metal Storage Options – make this versatile Storage Coffee Table on Casters
- Rustic Metal Planters – create a Window Sill Herb Planter
- Rustic Metal Accents for Entertaining – like this amazing DIY Bar Cart!
- Rustic Metal Decorative Accents – I think this is my favorite chapter. It is full of beautiful and easy ideas for the holidays. That gorgeous metal leaf wreath is on my to-do list for sure.
This book would make a great gift for yourself or for a crafty, diy lover the holidays! You can find Laura’s book available at Barns and Noble and on Amazon. Click here to buy DIY Rustic Modern Metal Crafts: 35 Creative Upcycling Ideas for Galvanized Metal on Amazon

I use a huge galvanized bucket to put my Christmas tree stand in so you don’t see the not so pretty (but awesome) tree stand. Bonus that it keeps any spills contained when watering the tree ?
