What a glorious Memorial Day weekend we had! The weather started off a bit cool and breezy but was filled with sunshine and blue skies. I unplugged completely and just spent some quality time with the family. We hit the rivers and the sound for two fun filled days of boating!
I’ve pulled together some of my boating attire must haves for a day on the water.
I start off with a cute bikini… which I love,
but this 42 yr. old mom needs to hit the gym … asap.

Moving on… Next I love a crocheted cover-up. It’s perfect for when the breezes get a bit cool or if we pull up to a dockside restaurant.
Pair them with matching flip flops with a little bling. Every girl needs a bit of bling, but I don’t wear jewelry when I’m in the water because I don’t want to be mistaken for shiny fish scales or a fishing lures. For those of you who live near salt water, you know exactly what I’m talking about!
(PS- Don’t paint your toe nails silver!!! Jaws will find you! )
I’m ready for a gorgeous day on the water!
Most important is UV protection! Because I lost my dad to melanoma, I’m much more vigilant to protecting my skin. S0 I always wear a high SPF sunscreen, sunglasses, and much to my kiddos chagrin… my cowboy hat with wired, shape-able brim. I love it! Oh yes, and waterproof mascara!
I’m going to look so cute in my bikini and hat!
This will be fun! Right?…….
That is until your husband (who is driving the boat) thinks your hair would look better
A-la-Don-King style!
(ps- if you’re too young to know who Don King is then Google it darlin’)
Men! They turn into naughty little boys the moment mom enters the tube! And mine is the NAUGHTIEST!
Notice the happy smile on my son’s face and the look of sheer terror across mine…. lovely. Let’s see how loud we can make mama scream!
Watch out Mr. Wilson…. Mrs. Wilson knows how to drive the boat also, and your turn is NEXT! … (insert evil laugh)
I hope you had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend also and took the time to reflect upon those in our military who have sacrificed so much so that my family and yours have the freedom to live in this amazing nation.
Thank you to all my those of you who are serving!

Exactly!!! I always know I’m “in for it” when I enter the tube. Thankfully, I’m the only one who knows how to drive the boat when he wants to wake board…. heee, heee, heee…. “OOOPS! Was that too fast honey?” 😉

Kim, I have been where you are in these pictures and yes the men that drive boats love to get us Moms screaming for sure! It’s a blast though.

It’s often hard to have a REALLY good time, and look good doing it. Especially on the water 😉
And I love that he doesn’t know when you’re going to strike back… lol.
Kim Wilson says
Oh he has it coming to him for sure! He’s a mega wake boarder & skier…. just wait…. I will get my revenge. (wink)
Thanks for stopping by Shannon!

Totally relate to this one, Kim! Fortunately (I think???) I have some low back problems so my crazy hubby has had to rethink flipping me out of the tube!! Looks so fun…great pictures!!
