Don’t arrive empty handed to your next Christmas Party! Show your hostess how much you appreciate her hospitality by giving her this adorable gift pail filled with homemade Garlic & Herb Dipping Oil, wine, a fresh baguette, and a holiday dish towel! It’s quick, festive, and affordable!
Garlic & Herb Dipping Oil
2 teaspoons dried minced garlic*
2 teaspoons Italian Herb Seasoning
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon salt
Extra Virgin Olive Oil (1- 1.5 cups, depending on the size of your oil dispenser)
*(Never store raw garlic in oil at room temperature, or bacteria can occur)
STEP 1) Mix the garlic, herbs, salt and pepper together in a small bowl.
STEP 2) Then with a funnel, pour the herbs into an oil dispenser.
STEP 3) With funnel, pour olive oil into oil dispenser, place cap on top and shake to combine well.
STEP 4) Allow to sit for at least 24 hours before using so the herbs and garlic can fully flavor the oil.
How to Make a Hostess Gift Pail
Pick up an inexpensive aluminum pail at a hardware store. Fill the gift pail with a new dish towel, a small bottle of wine, the Garlic & Herb Dipping Oil and a fresh baguette loaf wrapped in parchment paper. Making Fresh Baguettes is actually quick and easy to do. I use my food processor to make the dough. A home filled with the smell of fresh baked bread is amazing! But if you want to save some time and energy feel free to pick up small baguettes at a bakery. Don’t forget to make a tag for your oil, so your hostess will know what she’s receiving! Lastly, adorn the Hostess Gift Pail with a bright bow that will match the dish towel and add a sprig of holly, boxwood, or rosemary for added color.
Not only is the Garlic & Herb Dipping Oil delicious with the fresh bread, but it is a wonderful addition drizzled over a salad, pasta, or used in sautéing meats or veggies. Make sure to make a bottle for yourself to keep! Enjoy!

Love this idea!! I want to make one for all my neighbors this Christmas. Where did you find the oil dispenser? If I remember correctly, I think Target had those pails in the dollar section a few months ago, and of course I didn’t buy any!Grrrr
Thanks so much for the nice comments! To answer Stephanie’s question: I picked up the pail at Home Depot in the paint section. I think it was around $3, maybe cheaper and the bottles can be found at Target, Walmart, and Pier one. Walmart’s are the least expensive of course.
