4 Easy Ways to Refresh Your Front Door + Giveaway

decorating inspiration· DIY

This post and giveaway is brought to you in partnership with Schlage.

Summer is the perfect time to spruce up your home’s curb appeal. Today I’m happy to share 4 Easy Ways to Refresh Your Front Door and I have an awesome giveway to help make your front door fabulous!

4 Easy Ways to Refresh Your Front Door and Boost Curb Appeal

Fresh New Paint Color

One of the easiest ways to update your front door is with a new paint color. A fresh new color can completely change the look of your home and boost curb appeal. Look at how many colors I’ve had over the years!

Choosing Front Door Colors

And now for summer our door is a beautiful and classic navy blue. This color is named Infinite Deep Sea by Behr.

4 ways to enhance your front door and curb appeal

Stylish New Door Hardware

Add style and security with new door hardware from Schlage. This past Christmas we updated our side garage door with awesome new hardware in a brushed nickel finish from Schlage. We installed the Schlage Sense™ Smart Deadbolt with a keyless entry touchpad and Bluetooth technology. It is amazing! The deadbolt can be locked/unlocked with our iPhone. I can even tell Siri to unlock the door and she does! This is especially convenient when unloading groceries or when coming home late at night.

Schlage Sense Smart Deadbolt 2

Our side door is the most used door in our home and with 4 kids (who never seem to remember their keys) I knew a keyless entry lock or one that they could control from their iPhones would be perfect for our family. The Schlage Sense™ Smart Deadbolt is one of the strongest, most intelligent Bluetooth®-enabled locks on the market, with the highest industry rating for security and durability and includes Schlage’s patented and patent pending technologies.

Front Door Makeover

We were so impressed with the fast installation and ease of use that we decided to switch out and upgrade our front door hardware with a new sleek Schlage Connect™ Touchscreen Deadbolt with Alarm.  The classic gold brass matches beautifully with with our door’s gold leading and looks so sharp paired with the nautical blue door paint color. Our handleset is part of the Camelot design series which matches our garage side door hardware design style, and is available in a variety of finishes. The touch pad illuminates and gives a green check to confirm your locking option.

Schlage Connect Touchscreen Deadbolt with Alarm

Combining advanced features and compatibility with your home automation system, this door lock with alarm allows you to control your home from anywhere. With a fingerprint resistant touchscreen you can feel secure. Allow friends and family to enter your home without a key by simply entering a code of your choice. The lock features memory for up to 30 users.

Planters with Pizzazz

Every porch and entryway needs to have some type of botanical life on it! Balance the sides of your door with containers filled with either colorful flowers, planters, or lush greenery. For our hot southern summers, we have found that greenery in pots does best on our sun drenched, south facing front porch. These everygreen topiaries add height, balance and a traditional flair to our entryway.

4 Ways to Refresh Your Front Door - Coastal Home

Thankfully, we have 8 foot tall knockout rose bushes which flank each side of the front porch and provide vibrant color from spring through fall. Consider using bright colored containers or neutral containers filled with bright annuals.

4 Ways to Update Your Front Door

Door Decor

Your door decor should change with the seasons. Your door decor is your chance to express your personality and style! I love driving through the neighborhood and seeing all the interesting and festive wreaths and door decor that the neighbors display. Because it is the beginning of summer our front door is adorned with a beach inspired nautical wreath.  The preserved boxwood wreath is a staple in our home which I will simply disassemble and re-decorate each season.

Nautical Wreath

New paint, hardware, planters, and door decor are all 4 easy ways to refresh your front door this summer!

http://www.schlage.com/en/home/products/BE479CAMFFF.html for sure. I love the idea of one I can unlock from my phone, especially because when holding my daughter and bringing my bags in, being able to unlock my door is very difficult with my keys, if I could unlock it form my phone before getting out, it would give me security but convenience. The nickel color would match the locks on the rest of the house perfectly.

Great post. Schlage hardware is the best. We’re planning to upgrade our interior door hardware to the Georgian knob in antique brass. It will look great with our 6 panel doors that are painted white.

I want to say beautiful front entrance! We dress ours up as well but don’t change the color, but coordinate the flowers or what have you with the door. Never thought about a wreath year round, but now I’m curious!

Thanks Robbie! I love change… it keeps life interesting. Paint is inexpensive and can be changed in an hour or two. And if you don’t like it, then simply paint it again. 😉

I like the Schlagle Connect. I just purchased my very first home 2 weeks ago (yay!) and I’ve been shopping around for keyless entry options for the front door. I’ve used them before in AirBnB situations and liked how simple it was to not have a key to worry about. http://www.schlage.com/en/home/keyless-deadbolt-locks/connect.html
