I’m working on a Valentine’s mantel this week and putting the finishing touches on it. I was in a crafty mood this morning so out came the glue gun! I made this Simple Shell Valentine Art in 20 minutes and it’s so easy to do, I want to show you how! You can use any color shells you have. Right now I have a multitude of black shells laying around. Pull out your shell collection and let’s get crafting!
How to make Shell Valentine Art
You will need the following items:
- Small shells
- Card stock paper
- Hot glue & glue gun
- A matted frame
Step 1. Choose your shells. I tried to find small, unbroken shells that were similar in size and color.
Step 2. Place your card stock paper behind your matted frame. Tape it so it won’t slip, then arrange your shells to form a heart shape.
Step 3. Hot glue your shells to the cardstock, carefully lifting up one shell at a time as to not mess up the heart formation. Apply glue to the inside edge of the lip and foot of the shell, as seen below, and place back onto the card stock.
That’s all there is too it! In less than 20 minutes you have a simple and sweet Shell Valentine Art to display.
I’ve placed the shell art on my mantel which I’ll show you soon!
